Psalm 19:1
“The Heavens declare the Glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.”
I don’t think I know the person (be them saved or unsaved, a believer or not) who isn’t totally awed and taken aback with the amazing beauty of the sky! It’s just that I know “WHY” and they may not!
Lord, You are so amazingly ingenious to have come up with a platform where “day to day” this proclamation goes forth — Your “speech” pours out! “Night to night reveal knowledge”. There is no voice, there are no words, and yet…. the message goes out through all the earth and to the ends of the world!
Your sun comes out each morning like a bridegroom emerging from his tent — like a strong man running his course with joy — Your sun rises from the end of the heavens, runs it’s circuit to the end of the heavens — and it will all happen again the next day!! Day after day after day! You consistently and faithfully “speak” this way — declaring Your Glory! And ALL see it — and are warmed by it — there is nothing hidden from Your sun’s heat. There is no one who doesn’t see this evidence of Your Glory.
Psalm 19:1-6
1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.
4 Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun,
5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
And thus Romans 1:18-20 bears witness to this truth, as it speaks of the ungodly and unrighteous being without excuse when they are judged. V.19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. v.20 For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.
Lord, open eyes to see that these sunsets and the beauty of the sky is ALL YOU…. it’s YOUR GLORY being revealed. Open minds to process this beauty and make the connection back to You. Open hearts to receive what You so generously give us in the way of evidence….. day after day, month after month, year after year. Equip those who do not know you… equip them to receive the truth of Isaiah 45:5-7
5 I am the LORD, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me,
6 that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the LORD, and there is no other.
7 I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the LORD, who does all these things.

I love this analogy. So true, so like Jesus would have used as a spiritual principal but delivered by an illustration that everyone can understand and identify with. Uplifting and full of hope and faith that this prayer will be answered.

Some of the moments I feel the closest to the Lord is when out in nature. I have quoted Psalm 19:1 while taking my dog out one last time and see the beauty of the stars above me. It has moved me to tears many times. It’s one of those moments of worshiping and praising Him who made all this beauty and still loves someone as insignificant as me. I think how loving He is to create all this beauty for us to enjoy. And then I think about how magnificent heaven will be; our limited minds cannot fathom it. You have me all excited and praising the Lord just thinking about it with your beautiful post, Kathy!! 💕
